Favorite Anne of Green Gables moments ↳ Anne & Gilbert’s first meeting suggested by anneandgilbert and makingtherest.

ANNE: I think we’re heroic winners, Diana. Don’t you?
DIANA: I think it’s a shame that Gilbert had to lose on a count of Moody. Don’t you think Gilbert’s handsome?
ANNE: He is handsome. But I think your Gilbert is awfully bold to wink at a strange girl.

Welcome to: If Male Superhero Costumes were Designed Like Female Superhero Costumes!

Aaaaa I dunno. I got tired of guys having no idea why girls find female superhero’s costumes kinda sexist, so I, um, made this?

My main goals were: 1) Make it so the first thing you think of when you look at them is sex, whether you want to or not. 2) make it so that any male human who looks at this feels really uncomfortable. 3) make it funny, because, well, it’s kinda hilarious really.

Not trying to start a war here, just wanted to poke a bit of fun.

So, here you go menfolk, welcome to being a girl who likes comics.

Really what commentary do I need to add to this?

I’d remove everything but the mask, boots, and underoos, actually. I think that’d be more accurate.

On the bottom of my character shoes, I usually put the initials of the shows I’ve used those particular shoes in, but this idea is far superior.

How are these 60 people linked? Well, see, after Rick Ruzzamenti, upper left, decided to donate his kidney, it set off a chain of kidney donation that led to 30 people getting 30 kidneys from people they didn’t know. It was the ultimate case of paying it forward. Ruzzamenti’s selfless gesture inspired the loved ones of those receiving kidneys — who weren’t matches with their relatives — to commit similar acts of selflessness. The result, what the National Kidney Registry calls Chain 124, led to people in 11 states getting a new lease on life.

"Do not worry if you have built your castles in the air. They are where they should be. Now put the foundations under them."
— Henry David Thoreau (via ponderful)

That “mall walkers” gag in the Modern Family pilot gets me every time.

My Nana and PopPop walk the Staten Island Mall like, every morning. Before the stores even open. They are in that train of determined seniors whom Jay tries to avoid like the devil.

I always have to reblog this because this is the scene that made me fall in love with Anya.

Just glancing at this made me tear up.

It was admirable how much effort I put in to keep my face neutral when I brought up Scorsese to someone who said she was interested in film only to have said person without skipping a beat, say “Yeah she’s really great!”

She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great. She’s really great.

This exemplar of cinematic knowledge then went on to say how she would love to work with J.Lo and Tyler Perry.

"My wife and I were at a dinner in Washington DC earlier this year - it was a cancer event - and this woman sat down and said ‘Nice to meet you I’m so and so, and I’m a 30 year cancer survivor’. That wasn’t all that she was, but that was simply part of what she had gone through and that’s why she was there. Our vision is that is that someday someone will be able to sit down at a table and say ‘I’m a survivor of sexual abuse; I’m a survivor of childhood sexual abuse; I’m a survivor of rape’, and not have the needle skip off the record and have the person sitting across from them not know what to say. Because it’s not what defines them, it’s simply something that happened to them and it’s not their fault and they don’t need to carry the shame. It’s an unjust stigma in the sense that the shame belongs to the perpetrator and not the victim."

Peter Hermann, husband to Mariska Hargitay & co-founder of the Joyful Heart Foundation

(I loved this too much not to post. I think it’s good to balance some of the difficult posts on the blog with inspiring things.)

Downton Abbey Season 2 Finale

Honestly the scene that got me the most tonight was when Daisy was at the farm with William’s father. She desperately needs someone to love and understand her, and to have a good influence like that in her corner will do her good.

A close second comes any scene with the Dowager Countess (especially the one with Daisy. OH and when Carlisle told her she wouldn’t be seeing him again and she was all, “Is that a promise?” WHABAM)

Special mentions to:

  • Mrs. Patmore jerking the Ouija thing around and Daisy swallowing it
  • That shot of Carson lurking when Mary and Matthew began dancing
  • Anything Mary and Matthew, obviously
  • The Dowager and Thomas dancing (much love to anyone who can gif that and somehow match it up with the GoF dance lesson scene)
  • The special features at the end of the episode

GREETINGS NEW FOLLOWERS

sneakingferocity:

I have a very wide range of interests. So be sure to ASK me something or maybe check out my list of shows and People I Would Marry. I do indeed also watch a good deal of film, and I’m working on getting a fairly accurate list on my IMDB profile to link here. Explore my archive!

Also I am fairly consistent with my tagging, so if you follow one tag you’re bound to find a lot. Welcome to the party!
